Food supplement in the form of a soft capsule containing menaquinone-7 (MK-7), the most active form of vitamin K2 dissolved in MCT oil from coconut. K2VITAL® is an exceptionally pure and fully bioactive form of vitamin K2, obtained from plant-based sources.
Vitamin K plays an important role in the body. It is primarily responsible for maintaining healthy bones and contributes to proper blood clotting. Studies have shown that menaquinone-7 (MK-7) – which is the best-absorbed form of vitamin K2 with proven stability and activity – promotes skeletal quality and strength by increasing bone mineral density and collagen production [1]. It has been suggested that vitamin K acts as an antioxidant. It is also seen to have properties that benefit cardiovascular function and support immunity. Vitamin K2 is essential at every stage of life – both in the early years and in adulthood. During adolescence, it supports bone and tooth mineralisation, as well as heart and immune system function. In later years, on the other hand, it supports healthy ageing by protecting against osteoporosis, among other things. This substance – due to its positive effects on the heart and bones – is also recommended for athletes. It regulates calcium metabolism, ensuring that calcium is delivered to where it is most needed and preventing harmful calcium deposition. In addition, vitamin K2 complements the effects of vitamin D3 [1,2].
Vitamin K is a fat-soluble compound and occurs mainly in two natural forms: as vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and as vitamin K2 (menaquinones). The first type of this substance can be found in green vegetables and vegetable oils, among others. However, it is vitamin K2 – and especially its best absorbed form, MK-7 – that is particularly important for bone health. Dietary sources of vitamin K2 are animal products and fermented foods (e.g. natto). Vitamin K deficiency is most often associated with decreased bone mineralisation, which may contribute to the development of osteoporosis or other skeletal complaints [1-3]. In providing adequate amounts of vitamin K, it is crucial to ensure a balanced diet. The use of tailored-portion supplements is also helpful.

The MCT oil contained in the supplement is extracted only from the oil produced from the coconut palm fruit Cocos nucifera. Vitamin K2 MK-7, 100 µg comes in the form of soft capsules that are easy to swallow, making your daily supplementation convenient and comfortable. The recommended daily serving (1 capsule) contains 100 µg of vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone-7, corresponding to 133% of the RWS. The product is best taken with or immediately after a meal.
