Description

Food supplement in the form of a hard capsule containing GABA and vitamin B6. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) acts as a neurotransmitter in the body. Vitamin B6 helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system.

You can’t sleep, have a feeling of anxiety and you can’t cope with stressful situations? You may be lacking in γ-aminobutyric acid. It is responsible for relaxation and reducing anxiety. Reach for GABA with vitamin B6 and check how these substances affect your nervous system and sleep.

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid, γ-aminobutyric acid) belongs to the group of non-protein amino acids and is one of the most important neurotransmitters of central nervous system (CNS) depressants. It corresponds, among others, to relieving nervous tension and is naturally produced in the body [1].

GABA (i.e. a relaxing, inhibitory neurotransmitter) is produced directly from glutamate (a stimulating, stimulating neurotransmitter). Both of these neurotransmitters should be in balance with each other. Gamma-aminobutyric acid is created in the brain as a result of the conversion of glucose into glutamate and then glutamate into GABA. Glutamate decarboxylase (GAD) is the main enzyme needed to produce GABA from glutamate. In turn, this enzyme needs vitamin B6 to function [2].

GABA is considered a natural relaxant, it is responsible for inducing relaxation and reducing anxiety and for increasing resistance in stressful conditions [3]. It has been proven that gamma-aminobutyric acid improves sleep quality [4]. On the other hand, vitamin B6 – which helps in the optimal functioning of the nervous system and maintaining proper psychological functions, and also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue – is important for the synthesis of many neurotransmitters, including GABA. It has been shown that supplementing pyridoxine reduces anxiety and depressed mood and also enhances the suppression of the visual environment (i.e., the ability to turn off background visual clutter, but with the ability to detect a target that is subtly different from its direct background). This allows us to make assumptions that supplementation with high doses of vitamin B6 may increase the neuronal effect of inhibitory GABA [5].

Receiving GABA together with the diet helps to improve the overall mental balance. Production capacity of gamma-aminobutyric acid is demonstrated, for example, by specific strains of lactic acid bacteria [6]. So, it is worth reaching for dairy products and silage. Among the plant-based products, which are good sources of GABA, can be mentioned e.g. brown rice sprouts, cereal sprouts and spinach. Potatoes, sweet potatoes and kale have lower concentrations of this nutrient [7]. On the other hand, vitamin B6 is contained in fish, offal (e.g. beef liver), potatoes and other starchy vegetables [8].

Low levels of vitamin B6 can cause cognitive decline and depressed mood. Deficiency of γ-aminobutyric acid contributes, among others, to anxiety and insomnia [1]. The introduction of appropriate supplementation can therefore help maintain the harmony of the body.

GABA 500 mg + vitamin B6 is a safe supplement that contains natural extracts and has the so-called clean label which is proof of no unnecessary additives in the composition. This allows even the most demanding customers to take the product without fear. One capsule corresponds to the recommended daily dose of 500 mg GABA and 2 mg vitamin B6 (143% NRV).
